Among the valuable buildings of Kermanshah, its old bazaar is more than 150 years old. This market still maintains its dynamism and plays an important role in the economy of Kermanshah and its neighboring cities.
In the recent past, in addition to trade, some of the production and industrial activities have been carried out in this market, but over time, the number of producers, who were mostly artisans, has decreased, and as a result, the share of production in the market became very limited.
Among the main production centers, we can mention the market of blacksmiths, saddle makers, the line of binders, and the line of gun makers in Timcheh Seyyed Ismail. Today, the manufacturing sector is limited to the blacksmiths' market, the bakers' market, and a small part of the goldsmiths' market.
Some market orders are known as ethnic or religious minorities, such as the Jewish market or the Turkish order.
Along the market, there were numerous palaces and caravanserais that provided services to travelers and merchants. Among the halls of Kermanshah Bazaar, we can mention Kashani House, Hakim Al-Dawla House, Noor House, Isfahani House, Vadil Al-Dawlah House, Date Traders House, Farashi Bashi House, Emad Al-Dawlah House, Masonry House and many historical house residence which are open for visit only.
