KHABKHANEH
IMPERIAL SUITE
In older days saving energy were a basic rule to design a residence. In traditional Iranian architecture a house had some rooms which were more suitable for winter and some were most used in summer. They called these rooms ‘tabestan neshin’ (summer room) and ‘zemestan neshin’ (winter room). Tabestan neshin were design to scape direct sunlight during a day and Zemestan neshing were designed to get as much as sunlight as it can during the day. By this design, rooms had an average temperature in every season.
We have a room which represents the architecture of Qajar era very well. This room is located on the east side of the first floor. In Isfahan houses are face to southwest; because of that, eastern room have a lot of sunlight during winter. That is why they call this room ‘zemestan neshin’.
At the moment this room is a suite which contains two separate rooms with an interior connecting door. This suit has an indoor bathroom and toilet. Also it has a great view to the yard or ‘Miyansara’. Orosi Room which is the name of larger room, has three single beds. Sedari room that is the smaller room, has two single beds.
Orosi is our room with special Qajarian design. It has a beautiful architecture from inside and out. Unique door and windows with old fireplace makes your stay at this room memorable. Sedari means a room with three doors. As we mentioned odd numbers were a symbol of beauty in Iranian architecture. These conjoined rooms that are located at the east side of the house; have three special designed doors.
