The Kurdish House (Kahneh Kord) in the central core of Sanandaj is one of the tourist attractions in Kurdistan Province, which annually receives thousands of tourists. It is better if tourists choose to book a hotel in Iran, rent house accommodation in Iran or book a luxury boutique hotel in Iran near historical sites.

The Kurdish House Mansion is one of the oldest buildings in Sanandaj, which according to the evidence and architectural style is probably the construction of its original building related to the Safavi era. Other parts have been completed in the Qajar and early Pahlavi. Asef Divan has taken over this historical house in Iran, but the original founder is considered to be the family of the Hashemites, and Mirza Mohammad Reza Wazir (Asif Divan's father) probably took possession of it. That is why it is known as Asef Mansion nowadays.

The building complex is about 4000 square meters and in addition to the entrance door, corridor and the water distribution room, it has four courtyards, which include the outer courtyard, the inner courtyard, the employees and the kitchen courtyard.

Outdoor courtyard (main):

It has a rectangular plan and a porch reminiscent of Isfahani style architecture. Inside the courtyard, there is a large waterfront in front of the main hall and next to it there is a large garden which is divided into four parts. If you want to know more about Isfahani style you can take a look on Kianpour boutique hotel in Isfahan pictures.

On the north side of the courtyard; there is the main hall with a wooden columned porch and the head of the Mogharnas columns, the main hall is in the form of four arches and its dome is roofed.

On the south side of the dome of the Ersi dome, there is a busy geometric design and a Chinese knot, which is unique in its kind in the western guesthouses in Iran.

On either side of the main hall, two corridors with nested entrances have been created in two arches, the eastern part of which is old and built at the same time as others, but the western part is newer and, according to existing quotations and documents, caught fire in the recent years of Pahlavi era. Pahlavi king has been reconstructed the spaces of the eastern part with a slight difference.

The covering and roof of the spaces on the eastern side of the main hall in the corridor and ground floor rooms are covered with beams and the upper spaces are in the form of Toyzeh arches.

The condition of the main hall shows the architecture of the Safavid time. In 2002, during the restoration, two lattice pieces of Chinese knots were discovered in the main hall, whose style is comparable to the original Erosian Chinese knot works of the hall and with examples of Safavi architecture.

The architecture of the western side of the main courtyard, which was probably added to the collection during the reign of Mirza Reza Wazir Mirza Ali Naghi Asef, is different from other parts, especially the main hall on the east side.

The space has a national porch with four-sided columns behind the porch, there is a hall with a lot of arrogance and Islamic design, which is written on one of its designed in 1323, the roof of this section is decorated with arches, gypsum and plaster decorations. The walls are framed with bird designs all to roof of the porch.

On both sides of the section, there are two corridors, above which are rooms using erosions, which are known as earrings in residential architecture. Next to the side corridors, there are two rooms, one connected to the bathroom and the other to the inner courtyard.

Employees' yard:

On the south side of the mansion complex, next to the entrance hall, there is a courtyard with vast spaces around it, which unfortunately has been destroyed in the last three or four decades. Apparently, part of it was used as a zurkhaneh. In the study of the new constructions that were carried out in this section, the remains of the water basin and the architecture were obtained, and according to the quotations, the construction site was separate from this old house in Iran.

This mansion belongs to the Ardalan family and is known as the house of Colonel Ali Khan. In 1320 AH, it was added to the outer courtyard of the Asif mansion complex and has been turned into a gate, guard room, gatekeeper and outer courtyard. This section was destroyed in the street killings of 1312 to 1316 and functioned as a courtyard for employees.

Kitchen yard

Next to the courtyard of the employees in the corner of the south side of the mansion, there is a smaller courtyard which is known as the "kitchen courtyard", this courtyard is rectangular and has a stone façade. Kitchen space is covered with arches and art.

The architecture of this space shows signs of coincidence with the main northern hall of the complex, which belongs to the Safavi era.

The inner courtyard

On the north side of the mansion there is the inner courtyard, which was built on three floors in the early Pahlavi time. This mansion in Iran is based on the local architecture of the area, which is characterized by a three-story porch of traditional tourist houses in Isfahan. It is built in a nice style and the smaller traditional porch is located on two floors with a staircase in front of the main porch. This section was built in 1316 by local masters and several masters of Hamedan.
