Isfahan is an ancient city in the center of Iran. This city is in the center of Isfahan province and also in the center of Isfahan city many monuments are sited. Isfahan is the third largest Iranian city after Tehran and Mashhad and the third most populous Iranian city after Tehran and Mashhad.

It is the third largest city after Tehran and Mashhad. Isfahan became the capital of Iran in Seljuk era for second time which was a flourishing time for it. Even today, the city has retained much of its former glory. There are numerous monuments in the city, and old houses in Isfahan, some of which are registered as UNESCO's historical heritage. Isfahan was selected as the cultural capital of the Islamic world in 2006 and as the capital of culture and civilization of Islamic religion in Iran. The city is known for its beautiful Islamic architecture and many beautiful boulevards, bridges, palaces, mosques and unique minarets. This has made Isfahan full of Iranian culture which earned a nick name as the Nesfe-jahan (Half of the world). The Naqshe-Jahan Square is one of the largest squares in the world and it is a prominent example of Islamic architecture registered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Weather

Isfahan is located in a semi-desert area in central Iran, alongside Zayandehrood River, which originates from the central mountains of Iran, it flows into the Gavkhuni marsh and it is one of the tourist, cultural and economic centers of Iran. Zayandehrood River is the largest river in the central plateau of Iran. It originates from the central mountains of Iran and passes through Isfahan. The forested area is also one of the best zones of Zayandehrood River. Other natural areas of Isfahan include the mountain of Kolah Ghazi and the mountain of Safa. The Judge's Hat mount (Kolah Qazi mount) area is a national park called the kolaqazi’s National Park, which is home to many animals such as horse, mackerel, goat, deer and eagle.

The climate of Isfahan city in the north and east is affected by the desert region and in the south it enjoys cooler air due to the mountains of Safa. Isfahan's climate is generally temperate and dry, with relatively little rainfall and snow. The maximum temperature in summer is 40 ° C, which creates hot and dry summers.
