As the street name implies, it must be very large, of course. Hours of walking and strolling under the bright shades of sycamore and its elm trees can calm you; it is really peaceful.

You can Sit on its couches and see the bicycle riders who will ring their bells when they pass. This street used to have a couple of luxury hotels in Isfahan in past time.

You have access to this street wherever you are in the city. You can start from the top to see this street and go from the Shohada Square to the Darvazeh Dolat.

The street you are in used to be reminiscent of the Safavi royal family. On that time it was not the street we see today. At that time, Chahar Bagh was a large promenade surrounded by fruit gardens and royal mansions.

Chahar Bagh History

It became a street in the Pahlavi era. Chahar Bagh Paein was also built during this time. But as time went by, the gardens became homes, shops, and cars and motorcycles started to pass in this Street.

Now it's a long street full of big or small shops selling clothes and shoes. The Chahar Bagh Shopping Centers, such as the Park Complex, Kowsar and such are in this street which most of them are in the Chahar Bagh Bala and Enqelab Square.

In the neighborhood of this street is Jolf Street. One of the cobbled streets near Isfahan. A neighborhood that is mostly friendly with pedestrians.

At the bottom of the garden and at the intersection of Amedegah and Enqelab square, we reach the cinemas of the Four Gardens (Chahar Bagh), which usually hosts children's film festivals.

Chahar Bagh cinemas

The cinemas in Chahar Bagh have transformed this street into a cinematic town. The best location for easy access for anyone who loves cinema. Palestinian and Sepahan cinemas are located in the northern part of the Chahar Bagh before reaching Amadegah Street. The Khanevadeh (Family) cinema is on the south side of the street. Cinema Surah also fills its own audiences on Amadegah Street to screen art films.

History of Chahar Bagh

Pietro Dalvale, an Italian tourist who lived in Isfahan, the capital of Iran for some time during the reign of Shah Abbas, wrote about Chahar Bagh Street after describing the role of Isfahan's Naqshe-Jahan Square:

(Another spectacular place in Isfahan is a street that is currently outside the city but will be completely in the middle when new neighborhoods join. The length of this street is four to five miles and maybe twice as wide (MollePonte). Pent Mel is the name of one of the bridges of the city of Rome on the river Tiberias.

Two sections of Abbasid Chahar Bagh were designed and executed in the time of Shah Abbas I and the approximate date of its construction dates back to 1000 AH. Chahar Bagh Paein were added to the main street in Safavi era during the reign of King Reza Shah Pahlavi.
